We have never been disappointed in the food or service at Loyd Have Mercy.
I was a little apprehensive on this trip because I have friends visiting from France and I had been talking up Loyd’s so much that I was afraid it wouldn’t live up to their expectations. We drove the hour from Daytona and as we were walking in I heard the familiar exclamations from other diners about how delicious their food was, and I started to relax.
I should know by now never to worry when I go to Loyd’s. We ordered St. Louis ribs, garlic Parmesan wings, fried green tomatoes, fried okra, sweet tea, grits, mac and cheese, all you can eat fried shrimp, candied yams, banana pudding, peach cobbler, and red velvet cake. There wasn’t a single thing we ordered that didn’t come to the table at exactly the right temperature, cooked to perfection, and perfectly flavored. It was ideal in every way.
My friend who loves shrimp and orders it wherever she goes says that not only was it the best shrimp she had ever tried, it was so good that she now considers Loyd Have Mercy her new favorite restaurant. We all agreed that it was a good thing we live so far away, or we’d be there every night!
Our server was very sweet and brought us an extra slice of cake for having a long wait (which we hadn’t even noticed in the first place, but we appreciated the hospitality and consideration), and gave us some sweet tea for the road. Overall we spent a wonderful, relaxed evening enjoying the most delicious food Titusville has to offer. Loyd Have Mercy is a hidden jewel.
